Dr. Mortimer Mamelak, I do not hesitate to say, is my godsend!
In 1974, during childbirth, I fell asleep. Imagine the medical staff's reaction!
Subsequently, I endured a very frustrating search - what was wrong with me?
Finally, my gynecologist, Dr. P. Chan, at Sunnybrook Hospital, suggested a consultation with Dr. Mortimer Mamelak (psychiatrist at Sunnybrook Hospital). Dr. Mamelak was involved in a sleep disorder study; perhaps he could help me.
Well - he did! His immediate diagnosis and treatment of narcolepsy alleviated all the questions and frightening thoughts that continuously plagued me (and my family).
That is why Dr. Mortimer Mamelak is my godsend!
