On May 13, 2011, Dr. Spencer Netto saved my life. The surgeon who had performed laparoscopic surgery on May 10 to correct a hernia resulting from an emergency bowel resection in 2009 was out of the country when bile perotinitis developed. I remember how kindly and calmly Dr. Spencer Netto spoke to me in the early hours of May 13 and have heard how well he communicated with my daughter during the critical period following that and subsequent trips to the OR.
